Mekah Stingley (b. 1992, Milwaukee, WI, USA) is a folk artist based in Milwaukee. Working across a wide range of mediums, her practice is primarily focused in performance and mixed media. She turns collected literature, ephemera and phone photography into collages, digital art, prints, zines and sculptures. Mekah is also a mother, poet, minister, indigenous rights advocate, lay doula, gardener, model and student herbalist. Best known for her bold, thought-provoking messages and enigmatic presence- Stingley approaches each artform with intuition and care. She creates for inner transformation and to evoke the cutting quality of a machete alongside the gentle warmth of a cup of herbal tea.
